Although he was still dependent on the ventilator, the hospital was planning to discharge my husband this week. My children and I were planning to bring him home and were receiving the training necessary to provide total care
Evan was alert when the doctor came into his hospital room on Tuesday morning. He looked up and smiled in response to the doctor's greeting. The doctor commented on how well he looked and teased "If you do any better, I'm going to send you home".
About 5 minutes after the doctor left, Evan began having trouble breathing. The rapid response team converged on the room when I screamed for help. Another doctor and a respiratory therapist waited with me in the hallway until the doctor came out with the news that no one wants to hear.
Someone called my kids and we all sat with the body for the next few hours. Evan looked so peaceful. It almost looked like he was smiling.

To whomever rated this a one shpuld be ashamed of yourself.
I am sorry Linda but that burns me up.
I am so sorry that I have not been here for you. Our power has been off and I had no intenet access at all.
I am so sorry for your loss. I know what it is like to loose someone you love.. Words cannot make the pain go away. I just wanted you to know I am sorry.
I know he is not suffering now and he is in the Lords care. I know you will see him again.
Things happen, you get wrapped up in the day to day, and you suddenly become the worst friend in the world. I'm sorry Linda, I lost track and I am sorry to hear this. With my father though, we were comforted by the fact that he was no longer suffering, and he was in a better place. Parkinson's is a lousy disease.
I'm so very, very sorry. You've gone (along with Evin) through so much and love is never over. Take care, hon.
Marilyn

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my husband years ago after a long illness, so I really do know what you are going through.
You will never forget, but trust me when I say that with time it gets better and more bearable.
Always remember all the good times you had and never forget that he is watching you and will always be there to guide you in mind and spirit...I truly believe that.
My thoughts are with you and may you have peace in your heart.
Ernie
words never express enough, please know that we are thinking of you and caring
Lloyd
No words can make the pain go away but always remember you have your friends, your family and your GATHER friends who are here for you.
All this happened when I was visiting on the mainland in the spring and I had very limited time to spend at a computer, so consequently missed a lot in the lives of my friends and connections.
Even though belated, please accept my condolences.
I'm so sorry that I didn't know about this when it happened. I am so deeply sorry for you loss. I am putting you and your family in my prayers. Please accept my condolences
