After I had my dog Dakota DNA tested to find out what breeds were in him and in what amounts, I was shocked by the results. Dakota looks like a pit bull with maybe some lab in him. He weighs 55 pounds at 7 months and is a reddish tan color. His mother looked like a German shepherd /lab cross. The DNA results said he was at least 51% Boston terrier, 25 to 49 Basset hound, and less than 25% Bulldog. I looked at the results and thought, "Huh? No way!" I called the lab and told them they must have made a mistake and they said they would investigate. I called the lab back today to see what they had found out. The man told me that there was indeed an error in the DNA results and that they reran the test. He said the results had been analized but he didn't have them yet, so he would contact me later today or tomorrow with the accurate reults. Then they would print up a new certificate with the accurate breed makup on it and mail it to me. No apology given. I was thinking that if the results had sounded somewhat correct, I would have accepted them and not even realized that they were wrong. For nearly $80, I expected accuracy. I wonder how many other people have gotten results that were not accurate and they accepted the results without question. They would have paid nearly $80 and not known anything more than they knew before.
