Don't know but it really doesn't hold any interest to me. I do know, I stopped watching the CBS evening news, once the network announced they would be bringing in Coric to anchor the news.

I don't know if this is off topic ... but I read a really good article in "The New Yorker" last week about the ratings of CBS Evening news and the Couric buzz. I don't remember the exact numbers, but the article mentioned that the ratings for all Network Evening news shows were low, that Dan Rather's ratings were not much better than Couric's, and that the best ratings that the CBS evening news had were when Bob Schiffer filled in between Rather and Couric.

I think one of the final points to the article was that the public is looking for less headlines and more depth to the stories -- something the anchors are not providing. Maybe this is why news magazine shows such as Dateline and 60 Minutes have maintained higher ratings.

Morning television isn't all that appealing to me, as that's just about the time I'm falling asleep. But good for her if she's getting back in!

I hope not. Couric and Vieira are equally annoying, but Vieira seems to have way more chemistry with Matt Lauer. Am I the only one who notices the sexual tension??

It's all a ploy to get publicity for a thing that they're doing to raise money for cancer. That's what they want you to think.

I agree Liz, Meredith and Matt have a lot of sexual tension there.

Back on topic, Katie Couric shouldn't be blamed for CBS News's abysmal ratings. With the prevalence of the internet and 24 hour cable news shows, who bothers watching any of the newscasts?

I, for one, get all of my news from either the internet or NPR (usually the latter).

I like Katie. And while I like the combination of Matt and Meredith, I would truly enjoy watching Katie again on the Today Show. Thanks for the heads up. I missed the show this morning.

I admire Katie, and I am grateful to her as well. Had she not campaigned for colonoscopy screenings after her middle-forties husband died of colo-rectal cancer, many people would not be around today. She is a great spokeswoman, and I credit her with saving my life. Hence, I'm a great big fan.:)
