People from Kentucky take their Sundays seriously.
We had to drive almost 20 miles before finding a gas station that was open this morning. Each morning we go to a gas station to top off all of the tanks. Because of the Sabbath, everyone was close because it is a day of worship, and nothing should interfere with that.
I was astonished. My mom told me Pittsburgh was like this growing up. She said it was unusual to see businesses open on Sundays. It is part of this loophole of time that I recognize in the "Bible Belt," where people live in a way that I thought was part of the past. It was wonderful to see people being so traditional.
I respect that they take their Christianity seriously, however that still did not help us with our gas problem.
