This time we were better prepared with over a pound and a half of the M&M Colorworks bulk candies. Hey, if we are going to do sculptures we might as well be armed with a variety of colors, right?
This is the bag as it looked when we got home. Layered with colors galore. You don't want to know how much it cost, lol. Thanks Gather for funding crazy spendatures like this. ROFLOL!

Look at the pretty colors all mixed in the baggie.

Gideon did quality control and ate the chipped and broken ones for me. (It's a tough job, but someone has to do it!)

Then it was time to go on the train. Not too long into the first half of the journey (the trip from WI to Chicago) Gideon asked to do sculptures. I had intended it to be late night entertainment, but that's okay. I took out our bounty and got to work.
This is an M&M Fish. Gideon chose the colors I used.

An M&M Eye.

At about this point Gideon's train friend came over to see what we were doing. She was pretty interested in this whole candy sculpture thing. LOL
This is an M&M tree sculpture. The grey is the tree trunk and the green the grass and leaves. Of course there's also a yellow sun.

An M&M daisy sculpture & a sun.

An M&M tulip sculpture with sun.

Gideon's train friend Abbey wanted to try her hand at some too.
Here's her flower sculpture.

And her animal sculpture.

Okay, so the M&Ms were astronomically costly, but look at all the fun we had with them! Okay, so maybe it WAS worth the money spent afterall.

When my kids were little, we'd do math using M&Ms, often estimating the # of candies in their bags before they were allowed to open them. They learned pretty quickly that peanut m&ms weren't as plentiful per bag.
...they are soooo incredibly expensive though aren't they?
Thank you for posting to my group I Want Candy!
