Freedom.
There were the ubiquitous butterflies flitting about. And there were the bushes with their dark secrets contained beneath. Blue sky and sun beckoned beyond the glass. The birds to be stalked and bugs to be assaulted were beyond imagination.
Soon. He would be home soon.

Then the almost inaudible crack sounded and 'alert' transformed into 'terrified'. Someone was coming in! As the masked men crept in the door, the break to freedom was instinctive. All other thoughts were now gone as terror took over. Darting into the street amidst shrieking tires and honking horns ended quite . . .
