Hydrox Laboratories, Elgin , Illinois , is voluntarily withdrawing from the market ALL 2oz, 4oz, 16oz and 32oz sizes of alcohol-free mouthwash and ALL 4oz size mouthwash containing 2.5 % alcohol. The products do not have an expiration date and were manufactured with the following labels (the oldest manufacturing date is in parentheses) :
Amerigold (10/21/05), Bob Barker (11/15/06), Cardinal Health (5/3/02), Careline (10/31/05), Dawn Mist (10/19/05), Evoke (12/5/05), Freshscent (4/25/06), Fresh Moment (10/26/05), GS Select (12/5/05), McKesson (10/27/05), Rensow (8/17/07), Sparkle Fresh (4/3/08).
Products were distributed to healthcare facilities nationwide. The mouthwash may be found in certain personal hygiene hospital kits. It may also have been sold to Nursing Homes, Daycare centers, Physician's and/or Dentist offices.
Samples from two lots of mouthwash recalled in May 2008 (#26228 and #26230) were found to be contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia complex.

As a precautionary measure, Hydrox has decided to withdraw its mouthwash products from the market.
Healthcare facilities should review inventories of mouthwash to ensure that these products are no longer in use.

I have no idea, but i know it is found in soil and water, so perhaps their water was contaminated?
Yep, I was rather floored to read this also. I was equally shocked to learn that this happened in 2005 also. I might rethink the plan to take yours on vacation. I also learned that in 2004, an OTC nasal spray,"Major Twice-A-Day 12 Hour Nasal Spray." The manufacturer (Propharma Inc., Miami, Florida)" was recalled for the same reason....I guess we can't blame China for this one....
