In 2004, I had skin cancer on my nose that caused me to have to have MOHS surgery to completely destroy my nose except for the cartilage and then have 3 additional surgeries to rebuild it. Luckily, I had insurance then and the insurance paid for top-notch doctors, so my nose looks normal now and works well, except that I have to sleep with my head propped up a bit so I can breath at night. But it's not an experience I recommend, so anything that helps avoid skin cancer, I'm in favor of.
According to Good Housekeeping, coffee can help prevent skin cancer. For every cup of caffeinated coffee you drink, there appears to be a 5% drop in the likelihood of getting skin cancer.
Since another study recently indicated that coffee is also good for diabetics, it pleases me to know that my two cups a day is not a bad idea.
