I am. An em path is someone who feels what others feel or have felt. It is especially dangerous when dealing with the past and the fact you cannot help people who have suffered. It has caused me to adopt children, pets, and feel guilt over things or people I can't help.
Like anything else, it has its good and bad points. I am empathic to the point that I can't watch movies such as Titanic. The fact that it really occurred bothers me to the point of depression. I feel what those people felt. I know the movie is fiction, but it's based on reality, so a movie that everyone else may be discussing, I have to bypass.
Some em paths are psychic as well. This puts a connection between them and the dead. Not fun. If you read my story Elizabeth, you'll see the problem.
Do you know anyone else who is strongly empathic or am I just the lucky one?

I knew a guy who always said he was an Empath but he just acted as clueless as the rest of us ... so I don't know.
The next day, I called home and before my father could say anything, I told him "Don't tell me, abuelito, died" he answered "yes" I then learned he died about 1:30 that day.
To this day, I can remember all the details from that dream.

I do believe that some people are indeed able to be finely attuned to the experience of some others. I also believe some people are telepathic. But this is an approximation to anothers internal reality, not an exact carbon copy.
Whatever data we pick up out of the flow of our internal and external realities must necessary be subject to our own idiosyncratic conscious and unconscious interpretations.
I cant watch Titanic either. I understand.
