Memorial Day

Here it is, Memorial Day once again, what are you going to do this weekend?  Go to the mountains or to the beach?  Have picnics, relax and watch movies or the tv?  Well, while you are doing all these fun things and spending time with your families, even those you don't wish to spend time with, somewhere, some time along the way, look around you at all you have and those you love and then give a silent thank you to those who have given their lives so that we could celebrate this holiday.  Memorial Day was a special day when I was a kid growing up, there were flag raising ceremonies,with high school bands, Military salutes, prayers for the fallen, flowers placed reverently upon the graves of our loved ones passed.  but as the years have gone on, this old tradition has faded, new priorities have taken place and times have changed. So, let's take a little bit of time this Memorial Day to remember what this day is really about, not white sales and Huge Memorial Day blowouts, but a time to honor those gone before.  A time time to remember.
