Good point Colonel, but how about doing more testing in the country of origin? Someone mentioned that today.
You can't tell me with all the recalls and bad publicity that China has gotten with all the recalls, not to mention the head honcho (sp) that committed suicide last year, that these companies still manufacture this substandard, dangerous, merchandise. The sad thing is, we're letting them get by with it because we still purchase this stuff.
All I have to say, you get what you pay for.
Thanks Tim. If you posted this to my group Buy American it will be featured. I'll go check now.
Lynn..I think that I posted this to your group.
All those toys in those gumball machines.
I know! Let's stop buying this Cheap junk!
This stuff will not stop being offered for sale, until we STOP BUYING IT!
BTW, it's been featured. Thank you.
Carol, Dorothy and Juley....thanks for your comments.
The one that bothers me the most are the magnets that were made specifically for science classes in our schools. That seems some painfully massive exposure.
The Shaker Guiro is probably the most dangerous, though. Since the user (children) hold the tubular part in one hand while rubbing the stick part across it; and since a child user could well work up some sweat playing it in a musical classroom setting, it just seems like the chance of transfer would be exceedingly high.
I agree, tests need to be made by trustworthy examiners before these products are shipped out of their manufacturing facilities.
Thanks again for keeping us up on the news.

I used to buy all my sons pajamas from the Disney store, I have since stopped buying from them , period.
*&$%^#$%^&!!!!!.......ooops.
Nah...we just call each other that because we both live in Kentucky.
People who have pets should watch out too. I recently went to a Petsmart near me, looking for cat toys. They had over 100, all made in China except 1, which I rejected because the cats could swallow the little things.
Back home, I took off my socks and threw them across the room. The cats chased after them and pounced on them. Now I have clean, thick winter socks which I roll up into a ball (about as big as a baseball). The cats go wild after them, pounce on them, bite them, and try to eat them. It's hilarious, but I feel better with them having Made in USA socks instead of the brightly painted toys from China.
I wonder if there's some kind of a kit we can get, to test these things for lead, mercury or whatever.
