Rove subpoenaed . . . by John Conyers, the chairman of the House judiciary committee to appear before his committee on July 10th and testify under oath. This could become interesting too because while Rove has not been interested in coming in voluntarily, he has had no problem discussing this at his new jobs, Newsweek and Fox News. Of course, that's not under oath like it will be on the 10th!

"This will make Watergate look like child's play when it is fully investigated," Mr Siegelman told an Alabama newspaper last week, referring to his case and the dismissal of the prosecutors. He has repeatedly insisted that the White House, and Mr Rove in particular, was behind his legal woes. Besides Siegelman, the committee is investigating the terminations of nine US Attorneys and what role the White House had in that. This, in the end, led to Alberto Gonzales's resignation as Attorney General. No loss there.
Mr Siegelman was jailed for seven years for allegedly taking bribes while in office. However, he was released two months ago after 52 state attorneys-general came forward asking Congress to investigate whether he was pursued for political reasons.
"I haven't seen a case with this many red flags on it that pointed towards a real injustice being done." - Grant Woods, former Republican attorney general of Arizona.

From Bill W. @ http://www.crooksandliars.com/category/the-house/john-conyers/
Just off the House floor today, the Crypt overheard House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers tell two other people: "We're closing in on Rove. Someone's got to kick his ass."
Asked a few minutes later for a more official explanation, Conyers told us that Rove has a week to appear before his committee. If he doesn't, said Conyers, "We'll do what any self-respecting committee would do. We'd hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested."
[...] Yesterday, in somewhat more diplomatic language, Conyers refused Rove's offer to testify in writing. ...(more)
Between Conyers here along with Rep. Robert Wexler's stance on Rove, Biden's literally calling BS on Bush, and the House's actually voting to cut off funding for Iraq and setting a plan to pull the troops out, it really has me wondering if there hasn't been some kind of a cosmic shift in the Democratic Party (Dear God in Heaven watch THIS video - LMAO) lately. Perhaps the third win over the GOP in red districts has lent them some confidence, but whatever it is, may we have some more of that, please?

Is it possible. The first sign of a spine forming in the Democratic party??

A pardon would remove his ability to assert his 5th Ammendment rights against self-incrimination. Doubtful. Also, his boy Booshie will be gone all too soon for him.
"It would certainly do my attitude a world of good if the Federal Marshals were waiting for him in the studios. "
The subpoena is for after that . . . so it won't happen.
"Democrats will do anything to defend their criminals."
Wasn't Democrats defending him against the Booshie persecution pal. Check your facts. Also, you complete fricken' moron, let me know how many convicted Democrats have been made into heros like the republiCONvicts; Oliver North, G. Gordon Liddy . . . and on and on. Name one . . . I came name three for any ONE you can name . . . IF you can find ONE!
