This is scary.It is going to be the downfall of what is left of our economy.Everything we buy is transported on trucks,who are having to pay astronomical gas prices.Which of course are passed to us.Tourism is not going to be of any help to many towns who depend on that income each summer.Many people are going to have to cut back not on just pleasure but neccesities just to be able to afford to go to work.My son is paying about $120 a week in gas for work alone.And if you look at the price of heating oil and natural gas....I do not know how anyone will be able to afford to have heat next winter. I wish they would just take oil off the commodities market,would be better for the whole country,or a federal gas price cap.Husband thinks it would be best if the government took over all the oil companies in this country and made them public works,lol.Something has to be done now.Long term solutions are great,but wont help now.
In my part of the Detroit area the price went DOWN at most of the stations. Not much, but it did go down. Quite a few stations are now at $3.99 instead of over $4.
We've been teetering around the 3.79 mark. This morning on the way to work we saw one of the stations jump to 3.89 and couldn't believe it. One of my coworkers told me that just over the line in CT it's around 4.15.
oh my gosh!! At Kroger, I made sure I spent 100 bucks to get the 10cents off and I am so glad I did. I got it for 3.75 but that didn't stop my heart when I paid 99.75 at the pump :O(
