Ok, I want to know right now who is messing with the calendar?? There is no possible way that it is Memorial day weekend. It is barely 59 degrees here today and we can still see our breathe at night! The damn heat is on for Pete's sake!
So whom ever keeps changing the month on my calendar, stop now and no one gets hurt!
QUESTION OF THE DAY:
Do you have any special talents? IE: Playing a musical instrument, singing, painting, baking, etc.
Tell us about it! (And don't say you have NO talent. Everyone can do SOMETHING!)

I played the clarinet in middle and high school.
Rob, I was fearing that you would not answer or say there was no talent there...I am glad to be wrong!
Carol P. Trust me I will be bitching about the heat in a month or two!
Lets blame it on the Republicans.
Talents? I am a writer of fiction among other things. Whatever talent I had years ago left me. Right now I am the King of Layabout and the Emporer of Lazyass.
Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~
I can make vividly colored posters, be a hit at a barn dance and make my sweet Donna shiver with delight just by kissing her.
Do any of those count?
I was nationally ranked in the top 50 wordwide in high school/college for equestrian sports and missed going to the olympics by a few points
I make wedding cakes as a side job, just for fun
I however, can't play an instrument(except maybe a recorder) to save my life
I paint with the best kindergarteners around
Can barely walk without running into something
And I've got to tell you; a naked cowboy sitting high in the saddle with only his boots, holster and hat on does not make a pretty picture. At least when its this cowboy.
Now for your question:
The Lord has blessed me with writing, poetry and photography as my talents.
I am full of useless facts and pretty good at trivia games.
I don't know if I have an outstanding talent, but the gifts I have, I share. That is why God gave them to me.
No, not "looney tunes". Really.
And apparently, I shiver pretty well
as for special talents...hmm, an ability to remember lots of obscure historical facts while forgetting much more important things I need to do...
I crochet, knit, do counted cross stitch, and beadwork.
I am a fount of useless information and I love trivia and crossword puzzles. That suduko thing drives me nuts (and I used to think I was good at numbers)... but my granddaughters are whizzes at it.
I am a super great grandma, a wonderful mom, the best girlfriend ever, oh, and I like to garden and can my endeavors (apparently I make the best dilly beans and pickled beets ever). (Also salsa and chili sauce.)
Starting yesterday (Thurs), we now have snow in the mountains, had a tornado (which is far from normal) in the high desert, rain and the high only reached 59. Mother Nature is sure P.O.'d at the world. All that seems to be missing is an earthquake and a hurricane in opur part of the country.
I am great with cats. I can take a feral cat and domesticate it so that it is adoptable. Even better with the feral kittens, which luckly I have none of the past two yrs since I was finally able to get all my feral cats fixed.
Guess things like that happen after having a Venti Americanna with 2 extra shots from Starbucks and then getting on the computer........................
I can fix things without having done it before.
AND
I can catch 3.50 worth of quarters off of my elbow.
I paint, write, create lyrics, work with other musicians, create poetics, cable television productions, journalism . . .

Bill's Spirit----Ok, just let me know and I'll dust off those babies...
I sing in the shower only.
Cook anything and make you want to come back for more.

I don't know if you would consider it a talent, but I have a way with animals that many would think odd. I guess reading animals behaviors would be the talent.
Pulling one liners out of the air and cracking people up. lol
I'm athletic.
I play a mean game of darts. The real kind with good tungston steal darts.
I'm very accurate with a gun. Pistol or rifle.
I cook, bake, make soap, lotions, lipbalms, perfumes, after-shaves, all the soaps that are used/given to people that complete the volunteer work for the NCCAPS (North Central CT, Adult Prevention for Suicide) and the local Catholic Church Rosary Guild, which I do both at my cost - no labor charge - and I also make soaps, lotions, balms, etc's for two food pantrys and donate them whenever possible, that's dependant on money too - and I can play piano and organ, keyboards, though I don't have them anymore.
I attempt to write, I knit. I'm a wonderful napper.

I am also confident that I don't have to provide the answer to anyone who has raised teenage boys. Happily, the focus and intelligence remain there, waiting to emerge again in time...which they do :)
Teenage girls aren't any better. I have no bias in my observations.
I can draw landscapes and animals pretty well and would love to learn to paint.
I'm very crafty and am pretty good at interior decorating.
I'm told I'm a good cook/baker.
I write, though I don't share it much.
I craft and sew - often with my own patterns that I draw up. I also do miniatures for my doll house - again often with my own ideas and patterns that I make up.
Thanks for the belly laugh though. *smiles*
Mandi here's my list: oil painting, cook up fantastic meals, I played
guitar and sang Country & Western music for many years. I can also
yodel, let's say I could yodel haven't tryed it out lately. Write stories.
But in all that I do I thank my Heavenly Father for helping me.
Life on The Reservation would you please

I just wanted to stop by since I am finally going through what is now listed as under 4,800 pieces of gather new mail that is sitting in my inbox on here.
With that mentioned I just came across either a mailing from you yourself, or someone else brought this piece to my attention. You or they felt that your creation should be shared with the gather community, which I am very glad that it was passed on to me to view. So I wanted to say Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to publish it here on gather for us to all view. :o)
As well before I leave you I wanted to wish you a Happy New Year... in 2009 :o)
