I love golf even though I currently play around two or three times a year. It is equally odd that I play in "tournaments" but we have a lot of duffers in the Knights of Columbus so we are all among friends. This year I went to a tournament in my district hosted by Marian Council. It is on a wonderful golf course on the north fork of long island, situated right against the Long Island Sound.

We got there early for the breakfast. There was a light mist which went into an occasional drizzle but we went forth onto the golf course. My group started on the 8th hole, as we had a "shotgun" start. Camera in hand I also took the opportunity to get a few photos of the event. I had donated some money for a flag which I dedicated to the district as a whole, in part because I'm currently the district deputy, or the person who oversees the district. So I kept looking on the greens for my flag. Ironically it was literally on the last place I looked, they put the flag on the 7th hole. Patience apparently does pay!

How did I do? Let's just say that when you pay good money for a tournament don't you want to get your value in terms of the number of times you hit the ball? Let's just say I got good value for my money!
