I just RSVP'd to a wedding invitation via an interactive web form. Is that weird or what?

was it via E-Vite?? I have been getting a lot of those for birthday parties and get togethers but never for a wedding! Wow! Well I guess it saved the couple some money. Did they send regular invites too???

Lots of wedding things are weird lately. I know someone who got an invitation with, "You've been chosen to honor Chris and Jennifer with the large serving ladle that is part of the silver service they've chosen. You can find this gift at www.etc.etc."

Yuck. I'd get them some plastic plates and some doilies for an auction.

It's funny. I got a nice engraved invitation a a week ago and the I get this email reminder that today's the deadline to rsvp. there was a link with a bubble form--accept--or regrets. My name was even built into the form,which was a shrine to the couple complete with biographies, pics, and of course, where they're registered. I was at work and had a hard time not laughing out loud.

There are websites for announcing engagments and weddings, viewing wedding photos online, keeping a pictorial album of a pregnancy and much more. Considering the high cost of postage, is online RSVP so hard to accept?
As an experienced mother of the bride, I wish I'd had the option to email those who were late with their responses. It was embarrassing to have to make the phone calls.
If pregnant brides can wear white gowns, why should we think online RSVP is in poor taste?
I agree with you, Vicky. Being assigned to purchase a specific gift is pretty darn tacky.
A gift is always optional. If a gift is given, it should be the giver's choice.

Replying via email is acceptable. I never bat an eye. But who took the time to program this bubble form and include my husband's name? Not to mention that she works in the next building, if she wanted to save postage she could have walked over. In fact, I had sent her bridesmaid a reply anyway. And what's with the biographies? If people don't know anything about you, should you really invite them to your wedding? Is a wedding now just a blatant grab for gifts?

I think it's becoming more popular. I wouldn't find it very weird because I do a huge percentage of my communication via online, and I'd likely have something like this for a future wedding myself.
I think it's wonderful. I love it when the future catches up to the present, and vice versa!

I prefer email to the phone or even ftf. But this just did not sit well with me. Maybe because I'm not sure why I was invited in the first place.

I don't know...I think sometimes it's more green to use the web versus paper and postage. Maybe that was their idea?

So many things in this modern age. I got married 10 years ago and everything is so different even today.
