Review by Douglas Quinn, Author of Blue Heron Marsh, etal (www.douglasquinn.com).
When the United States government is threatened with more mass murders unless an unknown terrorist's demands are met, forensic doctor, Gilbert "Sneetz" Schnetele and investigative journalist, Albert Muldoon team up to help the President and his team track down and stop the pending threat.
The manner of death perpetrated by the terrorist comes in the form of mummified victims with no trace of evidence as to how it is accomplished. Sneetz is the reluctant patriot who, along with Muldoon, race against a deadline to save the country from a terrifying new weapon of mass destruction. In the end, to save the life of his friend, Muldoon, Sneetz is faced with a decision that, if acted upon, would force him to go against his own professional ethics and strong moral compass.
Melvin M. Harter is a competent writer; however, I would like to have had a much deeper understanding of the main characters and the motivations for their actions, particularly the terrorist. Also, while there were some editorial faux pas, they did not detract from the story.
Billed as a Sneetz and Muldoon thriller, Some Kind of Angel is a fun read with entertaining characters wrapped around a unique story.
