I feel so cheap and dirty

I've been on Gather for over a year. Whenever I had sent a connect request, it was always accompanied by an email first.

On 5-21-08, with the added feature of keying a security word, I was unable to get most of the emails to work, even after the third try.

So for the first time ever, I sent connect request without an email. Even as I did so, it cheapened my Gather experience.

Hopefully it will work properly tonight.

 

I originally joined Gather to enter the First Chapter contest.

I remain and participate on Gather to bring exposure for my work.

Even though only some of my connections will see and possibly view this, I will publish in the hopes of getting new readers to start the series.

Advertisers know they have to get something in front of you at least 50 times just so it's part of your awareness.

Carl...brilliant!!! i just stayed up most of the night reading this. i love it and like everyone else i am hooked. i really do wish there was more to read right now and can't wait until the next installment.

Everytime I see those words, Carl "not ready for prime time" Lee has just published an article, I'm excited to see if it's another chapter of A Stone's Throw. Lately you've been dashing my hopes a lot. But I keep clicking as fast as I can just incase, could it be.. no, got me again.

Well, I think most members now expect connection requests without an email. Some members use the connection request text as a substitute. You're limited on space, but it's better than nothing!

The title of this article drew me in. The cheap and dirty part that is! Then, I read this and I think, you are right that it is difficult to get the word out for your work if you have to type out some long code everytime. You should try it on myspace.com though, it's much more difficult. Their codes are numbers and letters, now that's almost impossible!

Carl, you write well. I just can't sit at the computer and read for long stretches. I'm sorry I don't go to your story and post comments more.
I guess you could call me a 'comment stalker' because I've learned who likes the same things I do, and when I see they have said something positive, I will sometimes follow.
