Debunking Scientology

  According to my information, Scientology was created at a party by drunken science fiction writers. They decided that the way to make a financial killing was to start a new religion, perhaps because religions are not taxed. Prior to this L. Ron Hubbard had written a science fiction book called "Battlefield Earth". Recently, after the death of Hubbard, Scientology icon John Travolta starred in a movie based on the book.    

    L. Ron took over the project. It seems that man was created as the result of aliens coming to Earth many years ago. Evolution did not create man as Darwin & Wallace thought. The problems of the world occurred because of psychiatry.       

  In my opinion, dianetics and Scientology are both science fiction. That does not mean that psychiatry is perfect, but it means that the problems of psychiatry are not solved by inventing a phoney religion. Hubbard was critical of psychiatric drugs and of ECT. The problems of psychiatry should be solved by scientific approaches.                 

  I feel that Isaac Asimov made more sense. Unfortunately, Asimov is also deceased. Asimov, a doctor, felt that the approach to psychiatry was to study the brain. Asimov wrote a book on the brain that was real science, not science fiction.
