As most of the civilized world now knows, (or at least my corner of Gather) I got married this last Saturday to the man of my dreams, Bill. The wedding was an occasion of great joy and happiness for me, for Bill and for my sons. While this marriage was my third and Bill's fourth we both, felt that this was the first time we had gotten it right. We knew within a week of meeting that we were
We had a very small gathering, a nice group of 11. We were married by a judge, Judge Richard Harper, a family friend. He gave a lovely, touching ceremony, then Bill and I read a poem. Bill had gotten me a card for our wedding day. The poem touched both of us so deeply and it was so much like us that we decided to use it as our vows.
I have included this poem below. It was written by Renee Duvall and so perfectly fits the two of us. We read it alternating lines and it was so close to our hearts that our feelings came out in the words. We both had tears in our eyes by the end of the poem, as did several of the family member. The judge teared up and asked for a copy of this poem.
Bill - Every day I fall in love with you all over again
Wanda - I fall in love with the things that attracted me to you in the first place
Bill - Important things, like your values and character
Wanda - Little things like the touch of your hand and the flash of your smile
Bill - I fall in love with aspects I've discovered along the way
Wanda - Your constant loyalty to our life together
Bill - Your encouragement of my personal growth
Wanda - Your knack for finding new ways to keep our love alive and growing
Bill - I fall in love with dreams of our future
Wanda - With new journeys we've found
Bill - New experiences we've shared, new milestones
Wanda - That wouldn't mean anything if we didn't reach them together
Bill - Every day I'm more grateful
Wanda - I found my soul mate, my lifelong love
Together - My heart's every desire in you

Believe it or not, I was my husband's fourth wife. (He doesn't like for me to mention this, so I don't, much) But we've been together now for 27 years!
Hey, when it's the right one, it's the right one!
