I reposted this by request to add it to a group.
I've been publishing a lot of articles about Sweet Pea, but now seems the perfect time to share a very cute story about when Sammie was little. I'm sorry Sammie. 8-P
Sammie was about four years old and in Preschool/Daycare. Memorial Day was approaching, so there were flags flying almost everywhere you went. The teacher/Daycare Mom thought it would be the perfect time to teach the children how to say The Pledge of Allegiance. After practicing really hard for a whole week to memorize the pledge, Sammie came home really proud of herself and anxious to share her accomplishment. She solemly put her hand over her heart and recited the following:
I pledge a legion to the flag of America and one dalmation underground invisible forever. Amen.
She stood there so proudly that it was about the cutest thing you have ever seen. I just about choked trying not to laugh at how cute she was, and I praised her for doing such a wonderful job. She eagerly called Nana and Papa to share her accomplishment with them, and they told her how great she did, too. It may not have been exactly the way they had rehearsed it, but it was a four year old's heartfelt tribute to our flag. I don't think you could ask for anything more.
