Reposting another poem that was sent to one group only when I first signed up.
Poem written after a period of anxiety and depression; too much responsibility and a bit of an identity crises. Praise God for "Working all things together for good" ... and ... XANAX !!
THE VI
CTORY OF DEFEAT
I'm battle worn and weary
But the battle is my own
I, myself, mine enemy
Demand to mount the throne.
I call for reinforcements
But which side made the call?
Which receives the answer?
Which side gives it's all?
Both of me is calling
Neither wants to die
And so I win the honor
With haughty battle cry
I ascend and clutch the crown
Yet sitting on that throne
I see my realm is empty
I'm forsaken and alone
And as I look across the land
I see a million thrones
Each manned by it's master
Each sitting there alone
But then my ear hears singing
I see men on their knees
Bowing crownless heads
To One who knows and sees
Their empty thrones forsaken
Their crowns laid at the feet
Of Christ in clouds enthroned
Above the Mercy Seat
I rise, I run toward Jesus
Bowing before His throne
I found myself alive in Christ
True joy in Him alone

Rev 4:10-11
10 the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
11 " Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created." NASU

Thanks for taking the time to come by.
In your poem 'Coming home' I felt so much sadness. I thought you were running away. And somehow when I left the name changed to "Going Home' in my mind. When revisiting I was impressed ... Coming Home vrs Going Home. It says something but I'm not sure exactly what. Coming Home sounds like your still there. Anyway it left me feeling sad for you so I was happy to hear your hope is in Christ. If you're trusting in Him I know He is with you & helping you work out your problems.
Thanks for coming by ... and commenting.

This poem of devotion expresses all of that gently but strongly.

My life just took a big turn; my 92 yr old Mom and I just moved in together as she needs constant care. So all social activities stopped. I love to read, study and write. That's when I found Gather and it has rounded my activities out to a T.
Here is the story of Glome.
Glome
I'm thinking about starting a group here in Gather. I haven't seen one that is quite like I need. The truths are so exciting when put into story form. I have many I want to share that are life changing but not poetry. I've been doing some thinking tonight. We'll see. Thanks for taking the time to come by.
Thank you for making it so available to others.
You're right. We learned that expectation is the key.
We were told our 13 yr old daughter would die due to a head injury when hit by a car. We waited day after day for a week. Intolerable pain. Then they came in one morning and said we don't know what happened last night, but her brain activity has increased to normal and she has turned her prognosis around. She may have brain damage but she apparently is going to live. Yaaaaaa ... cartwheels across the room!!!
Had they told us the first time she would have brain damage we would have been devastated. But our expectation had changed ... and we rejoiced :):)
Life is complicated.
Thanks so much for reading the poem and commenting.
I do hope you start a group. I'd like that.
It's easy to overlook friends in this place :) I'm glad you like the poem. You know how it goes ... every now and then I forget I'm not god.
If you're new, welcome to Gather.
I like your dog :)
I got my pride patted by teaching in this school for homeschooled kids that were exceptionally smart. I didn't want to give it up. But God offered me His prize of my Mom and my Sister. I decided to do both. Wrong :)
I eliminated most of this comment as it rambled ::)
Aren't you glad there is always an afterwards?
Thank you for your encouragment.
of vivid Blessing raining well profusely !!
As Glome writes in Lords glory or mercy !!!
Thanks for your coment; reinforces that it is indeed a battle we fight .
Thanks for coming by.
I don't think I know you. I love the sound of your name, though I'm probably not pronouncing it right :) I'll come to your site to meet you.
May God Bless you and keep you closed to his Heart. In the name of JESUS.
