Today during my lunch break I ate at O'Naturals in Acton, MA.
Every now and again I eat lunch there. It is a bit pricey, but everything is natural and fresh. They make a delightful flatbread. I really like their soups (they are not 'homemade' I saw that they come in a bag). I also enjoy their Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. The mint iced tea is also very good.
Today I wanted to try the Wild West Sandwich w/ a cup of the white bean soup. I had a trainee making my sandwich. I know we all have to learn our jobs and that we all started somewhere. I feel you can tell right away if your sandwich maker is a Hells Kitchen episode waiting to happen. My trainee sandwich maker today was the worst of the worst. Yes, an employee that throws food away over and over and over and then you have to step in to stop them from doing it again. This trainee was about to try to make my Wild West sandich for the 3rd time. She was wasting a ton of food, and with each try she was starting over with ALL NEW materials. I told her in the kindest voice I could muster: "Please just give me the second one there, I'd rather eat what you made than watch you throw food away for the third time."
Have any of you eaten at an O'Naturals? It is really good quality. However, more times than not I'm finding the workers to be really dumb. They have a sign up about how food prices are going up and that it is out of their control. Huh? Well maybe if you did not sit there throwing food away in front of your customers it would not be so easy to figure out why your prices keep climbing!
I don't tend to eat lunch out a lot. When I do I really want to make the most of it. My Wild West--a.k.a. Bison sandwich was yummy. It was just sad to see the other bison and bread and fixings get thrown away in front of my eyes.
