AMERICAN IDOL "PROM" DATE

Tonight's the big Idol David Sing Off.  Yes, I'll be watching.  But here's a little PROM news from everyone's favorite grinning, singing, 17-year-old "American Idol" finalist David Archuleta. 

Apparently, the day he was supposed to be going to his high school prom in his hometown of Murrary, Utah, he was instead meeting with music legend Neil Diamond.  Fellow finalist Brooke White helped get him through, by inviting him to a fake prom and being his date for the day.

"I spent the day with Brooke, so she's the one I danced with for my prom day," he told Pop Tarts after the "Idol" elimination on Wednesday night. "I would have preferred this anyway; it would have been nice to go to prom, but I'm so glad I was here instead. Standing there dancing with Brooke was pretty cool."

Mind you, Archuleta did get other offers.  David Cook also asked him to dance.  He declined.

I'm voting for David Cook as well. I think David Archuleta has an amazing voice, but when it comes down to what type of music I listen to and whose CD I would actually buy, it's David Cook hands down.

I voted for Cook but Archuletta is the clear winner.

David Cook!! he's my fav.. but I wouldnt be upset if David A ended up winning. I dont think he will, but it's gonna be a real close one...could go either way.

why did david cook pick the wrong songs?!? his songs weren't memorable, yet he's got a voice that wows. it's going to be an interesting night.

David Cook seems like he could use being winner of AI. I'm sure he dosen't make a lot of money as a bar tender. He seems like a good down to earth kinda person.

I was glad David Cook won too. He was my vote, though David Archuleta is really good too and will have an awesome career -- perhaps even better than David Cook, once he comes of age in his music field. I just felt that david A is not quite there yet, and David Cook is ready to go.
