Well we went to see the states attorney today and received some so so news. First he told us since we already have an order of protection against James' egg donor and Eric has custody he can't help us. They consider him out of danger for now. With this he can't give us the paperwork to do it either. However, he said with the evidence we have a very good case and that there is no law in Illinois saying we can not do an adoption ourselves. The question is if we can find the paper work and can fill them out ourselves correctly. So, I am shooting for the big one and going to give it a try.
Now a big favor I need all of you to first continue praying. Favor number two is if anyone has adoption papers and termination papers of parental rights then can you please leave me a message to this article that you can get them. I will send you my address if you would please mail me a copy. If you need to white out names and address' that is fine just please write down what needs to go in the spot. I am going to as well look here at the library to see if I can find them.
One more thing some good news!!! Eric found a new job he starts tomorrow from 11 PM to 7 AM. He will as well be getting paid more then his job he was laid off from. This is big stress release; neither one of us is thrilled about the midnight step but maybe something good will come open on another shift later and as I said this is at least a job. Thank you all for your prayers.

I'm happy to hear that things are moving more smoothly in yur life. The prayers will continue to go up on your behalf.
I know nothing about adoption. I got mine the other way. Wish I was more knowledgeable and could help.

Have a magical day....

They have prepaid legal which you pay per month for and have certain attorneys to look over paperwork etc. You may want to look into that. www.prepaidlegal.com I know my MIL has used them quite a bit.
I'll keep your family in my prayers.
Ang courthouse wont give the papers for adoption we tried that one already. I will check into the prepaid legal thanks
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Eric may find he LOVES 3rd shift. I worked it for years and it was GREAT!!! No white shirts around to give you a bunch of sh**! You could actually just do your job!
We also have two law professors on two different new stations that come on and answer legal questions via phone on show and have websites.
Also there may be a book of legal documents at your local library. They can and will make you copies that you can fill in the blanks or type out on word and put changes needed and take to a notary and see if courthouse will let you file it.
More than likely a lawyer is still looking like it will be necessary.
I googled Stat of Illinois Adoption forms and there are alot of legal forms and other pertinent information. Copy and Paste. Let me know how this site works out!

Also, you can google State of Illinois Adoption forms. That is where I got the link.
Good luck.
Also, so glad your hubby got a new job! I hope it works out well for him!
The hours stinks, but it is a job. Like you said hopefully something will open up on another shift. But we all do what we have to do to survive. My husband worked on the road for almost ten years. It is hard, but you adjust.

Try searching Illinois adoption process, Illinois adoption paperwork, Illinois child adpotion, Illinois parental rights termination papers, and anything else you can think of along them lines.
Have you thought about looking into a paralegal? They are much cheaper and most of them are pretty good. Good luck
Prayers for you and yours!
I hope everything continues to progress well.
Good Luck!
There's also a website called "FindLaw.com" where you can research various types of "pleadings" (court papers) by doing a search on their search engine using key words... Good LUCK!!!

Ang, (what would I do without gather?) G. recommended www.prepaidlegal.com and we called them as well as looked at the site. To start the service we have to pay $52 up front so as soon as Eric gets his first check we are going to start the process for adoption of James.
