Scary: Who has your medical information?

Who has your social security number?
Who has your medical history?
How about an operator in India?

Anytime a company uses an outsourced job and that company has access to your social security number, credit card, and even your medical history, the operator has that information and can use it.  India, where so many customer service calls are generated through, now can have access to information you wouldn't share with your family.

Is this a problem?  I think so.  Stop using companies that outsource!  They're ruining our economy and our privacy.  Scary isn't it?

The State of Washington outscourses are you kidding any one who even gets food stamps info is in India Sad but oh so very true !!

I echo the rest. How do we know? I do know my MD doesn't sell patient lists like many others do, so thats a plus, but everyone knows the insurance companies do.

I'd like to know how to find out who outsources. I know doctors and hospitals send medical records out to be transcribed, but was not aware that it was going out of the country. I thought when medical transcription companies couldn't keep up with the work they hired people who want to work at home to handle the overfow.

This is just another example of our government not thinking about the people. How to solve this problem is in total flux. Hopefully we'll get some elected officials with some integrity, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm trying to get in with a company called CORA (http://coraworks.com/) that's trying to focus on bringing those outsourcing jobs back to America and giving them to people who need them.

This is scary...
I am going to ask like the rest...but how we know who is outsourcing and who isn't? I would love to know..Maybe someone should start an internet site and let others know.
