Nissan makes electric car announcement

Nissan Motors has announced that it is targeting release of an all-electric car in 2010. Partnered with NEC, it has said the announcement has waited while plans were strengthened for battery production.

While there are a number of news sources releasing this information, here is a link to the Motor Authority website.

I chose it for the cool pic of a Pivo2 (a wheel hub motor version of the an electric car).

Electric cars are not the answer. Maybe for just around town, but not for one end of town to the other end of town.

I agree with JRB that most current electrics are problematic -- just don't have the distance or speed needed to travel distances. There are a few that can travel highways and have a range nearing 400 miles per charge, but most of us can't afford a Tesla right now.

This is promising idea, though.

Hydrogen cars are going to be the way forward as hydrogen is a unlimited source. I would love to purchase one of those new honda hydrogen cars through car leasing as then i can hand it back in a few years when it is still a wanted car.
