It's been heating up in Bakersfield. We've been getting 100 and over days. So yesterday we filled up our little turtle (that's really for sand) and I let the youngest two kids play (my oldest was at his great grandparents). I hooked up the sprinkler for some added fun. I lathered all of us up in sun screen and while the kids were playing, I dug up dirt so I could plant a garden.
Here are the pictures:
My middle son is holding a water sword (like a squirt gun but a sword) that he bought with his own money.

Great pictures.
We have had 95 + degrees this weekend, but the air quality was bad as there were fires in the Everglades. Hopefully we can get our mini pool out soon. My husband got the boys a huge pool last spring, but it is such a hassle to get out and set up. I therefore got them a little pool that I can easily put up and take down.
It's been heating up here too, but this weekend we had a little reprieve with a mild front coming thru, which seems intent on hovering about.
I'd love it, if it lasted a few days, so I can finish a few outdoor projects that I started.
What did you plant?
I planted some squash. When I was growing up, we'd have huge zucchini. I'd love to have some like that again.
