Breaking News: Ted Kennedy ill, rushed to hospital

He apparently was in an emergency room for two hours and is now in Massachusetts General Hospita. He is 76 years old.  He has represented Massachusetts for 43 years, in various capacities. I know some judge him harshly but the Kennedy family has had its shares of sorrows through the years. That is for sure.

Ted Kennedy may have had personal problems but he was the one for spoke up for women and children and working people.

I hope he's okay. He is truly the voice for the voiceless and I admire his political activities immensely.

Linda- With due respect, I think his family problems and personal flaws are not the issue at this point. When someone gets ill, I alway remember that they started out as someone's child once, even those who fall or make mistakes along the way (and who doesn't?)

Speaking only personally, I can't even imagine what a toll it would take to cope with the pain of losing two brothers to assassins. At this point, I can't judge how people cope in life or with life's pains.

I heard this on CNN this morning. They said stroke like symptoms. I hope they got to him in time. I wish him well.

It's been on the news here all day. He apparently had some sort of seizure instead of a stroke and is expected to make a full recovery.

I will repeat what I wrote on Sue *'s article about this:

I fear losing our "Lion of the Senate", the august Mr. Kennedy... He has been this country's lone savior on occasions too numerous to count for decades... Unfortunately, the singular evil inherent within the present admistration (and my own deep lack of confidence therein) causes me to find the "timing" of this event borderline suspect...

In my book, Ted is a hero...yeah, he made some mistakes, some pretty big ones...but in the end he has always stood up for the fortunate....as did his brothers and sisters. Massachusetts owes the Kennedy family for always standing up for liberal issues...whether it be Civil Rights, Women's issues, Education or Childcare. On the worldfront, they have been peacemakers but when push comes to shove, they can stand on their own feet and push back.
