A few weeks ago, I posted on building a square foot garden with our kids. I meant to plant it pretty quickly afterwards, but then we had rain every weekend! So today, we finally got our plants and planted everything!
The kids planted sunflowers behind their sandbox. We'll see if we get any this year!

While they were distracted, I planted the seeds. In this method, you use a pencil to make the hole, then drop two seeds in each hole. For radishes, you plant 16 plants per square foot.

The finished square box. It's mostly seeds, but we planted peppers in the middle, marigolds at the four corners, and then bush beans, radishes, beets, and carrots. We'll also plant okra next month.

The finished rectangular box. The whole back row is climbing plants - tomatoes, cucumbers, and sugar snap peas. Across the front I alternated marigolds, strawberries and pink snapdragons. On the far end is the zucchini. My husband is going to build a trellis across the back.

This is our next door neighbors garden - directly by our rectangular box! I'm hoping it's as easy as they say to pull out the weeds as soon as they appear in our garden...

And our friendly rabbit! I just know he's waiting to eat my peppers as soon as my back is turned...
