Friday's Thoughts

Another long week has come to an end. Yay!!

Monday, I hardly got any sleep. I think since the school year is almost at an end, they're letting the little monsters play on the playground longer during the day. (I live right across the street from the school.) I work overnights and sleep during the day, so sometimes I wish the little monsters would shut up and let me sleep. And their parents who come to get them would get their lazy butts outta their car and walk over to their monster instead of laying on the horn. Argh. I only got maybe at the most 4 hours of sleep that day.

Tuesday, I went over to my sister's and brother-in-law's house. Kate and I were going to run up to the mall in Quincy and hit the bookstore. Star Wars - Legacy of the Force Book 9: Invincible came out Tuesday. I really wanted to get it the day it came out because it's the last book in the series and I wanted it RIGHT NOW. I didn't want to wait for Amazon to ship it to me. I was so goofy from lack of sleep that it was decided that I would take a nap there, and the three of us would go after I got up.

I got about 3½ hours of sleep when Kate got me up for the day. We hit Ashley's Furniture store, because I'm looking at getting a new recliner. All my furniture is hand-me-downs. They're mostly nice, there's just nothing that *I* got to pick out for myself. They had a couple of chairs that I really liked. I hope to shop around at a couple of other stores before I make my purchase.

From there, we went to the Dollar Store and picked up some candy for the movie. Much cheaper than buying it at the theater.

Next, was Hobby Lobby. I was bored outta my skull.

After that, we had supper at El Rancherito's. Kate and I had grilled shrimp and scallops, Roy had a giant taco something. It was all very good.

Then we hit the mall so I could go to the bookstore and get my book. I picked up the book and it was $27!!!! Forget it! It's on Amazon for $16! Even with shipping, Amazon will be cheaper than the bookstore. I was very disappointed. I could have pre-ordered the damn thing and had it by Thursday. Argh.

Finally, we went to the movies. We saw Iron Man. It. Was. Awesome!!!! I would love to see it again, and I know I am definitely getting the DVD. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it if you like sci-fi fantasy stuff.

I was so tired by the time I got to work at 11:30p. I don't know how many times I paced the length of the house to stay awake.

Wednesday, I was so tired I slept from 11:30a to 10p. And I could have probably slept a few more hours. But it was the last night of the week for me, so it wasn't so bad.

Thursday, I slept some, I read some, I played with my dog some, I slept some, I played on the computer. I love the new Pogo.com game Mahjong Safari. I'm up to Rank 15 now. They've really been cranking out the games the last couple of months. They had gone through a dry spell without anything new for a long while. I'm also determined to win that picture of Ina's cat, Gus.

Today, I don't know yet if I'm babysitting Granny for the weekend or not. Mom hasn't called me yet. If I don't, then I want to go see the new Narnia movie, Prince Caspian. And maybe I'll hit the other furniture stores in the area. And since it's Friday, that means it's Battlestar Galactica tonight!
