Anyone up for sharing some good bicycling tips? Today is bike-to-work day and I'm curious about the things that make a bike commute easier or more enjoyable.

As far as biking tips go, I'd say be careful biking alone after dark (especially up in Coon Rapids), and build up to the pace and distance you were at last year. Also, deck out your bike with all the right tools - a pump, water, reflective tape, lights.
" When I first saw the title of this article, I thought it read 'Share your bikini tops' - and it still makes me chuckle." Diana, I must have typed and deleted five responses. Let's just leave it as that made me laugh very hard.
By the way, mpr has a piece about the new Midtown Bike Center up on their website. You can lock up your bike indoors, or just stop and refill your water bottle. They offer bike service, lockers - and even showers. How cool is that?
(Was I supposed to be biking/exercising over the winter?)
When did he purchase the bike, Selene?
I took a spin today for just under 13 miles. I keep sunglasses in my bike bag and now I'm going to include sunscreen and a dollar's worth of change. I'm also going to buy a little bell. Today someone was passing me and rang his bike bell just enough for me to move over to the far right side. I liked that. It's disconcerting when someone passes without warning.
