So .... you may remember that I mentioned that I was thinking about starting a Writers' Roundtable at school .... or two. Oh - I didn't tell you about the two campuses thing? Must have gapped that part.... anyway ... Barrie is definitely a go; had our first meeting this week; Orillia now looks to be a go as well...
Scheduling them to suit my schedule - so have one after class on Monday, and another after class on Tuesday so that there isn't (much) additional driving involved. I'm looking forward to them... committed to NOT copping out and taking previously written stuff to them... something new for each one, which of course means that I shall have to write something new each week.
Also, I have been making progress on the novel... took a bit to get going again as I had left it for too long... had to reread the whole thing, and of course, found stuff that I could improve/edit/change just a bit... but that's done and I'm moving forward again.
I have also started journalling again.... which is always good for me. Doing my three pages in the morning (as per Julia Cameron's The Artists' Way) tends to help me get focused.... and thinking about all of the cool stuff I want to write. Everything I can do that gets me motivated and moving forward can't hurt, right?
And now I should put my manuscript away (that sounds so much more 'writer-ish' than just saying book, doesn't it?) ...and go put on my teacher clothes and get moving. Early yet, but I ordered Gourmet-To-Go - chicken curry this week! I LOVE curry - and that has to be picked up at the end of the daytime classes; they don't hang around for those of us that don't have to start until 7.
When I sat down to do my prep for tonight's (COMMUNICATIONS) course I realized that I really didn't need to .... I guess the fact that I over-prepared for last week ....and that I really DO know this stuff and don't HAVE to worry & fuss & make fancy powerpoints finally made it through to my brain. I teach better when I know and love what I am doing - not when I have it all written out and practiced.... last week's class went well...but this one will be even better. Guaranteed.

And yes, Andrea, I know.... just FINISH IT.
I am, honest....will have completed first draft for you by grad ....also got you a very cool keychain.

since you are writing, perhaps you could write my evals for me....
sharon.... reviews of all canadian books are much appreciated at Canadian Writers - Past, Present & Future
I too started journaling again, - I will do it for weeks then just stop, -- takes forever to start back but when I do I always feel better and as you said more focused!
I found the feeder the raccoon stole under the deck .... don't have more bars for it though ...will have to get some... or figure out how to make them...bet there are 'recipes' online
first job is to get the YA novel done though
I had them do an evaluation because it was my first communications class since I got my degree... all good feedback, although one wanted more grammar and another wanted less .... typical :)
