I don't watch...i've maybe seen the show 2 or 3 tiimes since it started, but I saw that Whitney won.. she's from my area and she's "plus sized"..even though she's really not plus sized, but she's not a stick anyway LOL so I'm glad she won.

I watch it regularly and love it. I was also happy to see her win. Other than the news, four of the reality shows are the only thing I watch :) Top Chef, Project Runway, Top Model and American Idol. You really learn a lot from most of these reality shows and you get to know the actual people.
Isn't Whitney only a size 10 or is she 12? If she's 10 then she still seems to be a little fleshy ... but she looks great and I think Tyra was making a point to the world.

I watch the show, but I personally think that there have been much better "plus sized" models on there in the past. I am not a fan of Whitney.

I watch the show also, but cannot agree with you on this one. I didn't like Whitney, I think she doesn't show much of her personality.

so did they ever say WHAT SIZE the plus size model is?

cause in the industry, it's anyone size 10 and over. scary huh?

size 8 is pretty much considered no man's land in the modeling industry. most models are between size 4-6, with some being smaller, but sample clothes (what they put the models in for runways and shoots) average around the 4-6 size, which is why they look for women in that size range.

the only nice thing about being that size and not a model is that when a designer has a "sample sale" you can get these rare or nonproduction clothes for dirt cheap.

when i stopped modeling, the "waif" look was in. i was a size 0-2 at the time at 5'10" and told i was still too big and at 21 was considered "over the hill".

Holy crap, CC - I'm 5'10" and have never been a size 0-2. I would be emaciated! That is unbelievable. I would be in heaven if I was a 10. I've lost 20 lbs. since March and am fitting comfortably into size 14. My goal is to get down to a 10-12.

I was thrilled that Whitney won, as a full-figured girl, but also thought that Anya was deserving. I'll bet Whitney goes back to dark hair immediately to get rid of that beauty queen image that Paulina kept harping on.

Renie, i was 112 lbs back then. it was rather disgusting. you could see every rib. boobs didn't exist. and man was i cold in the winter, and i lived in Connecticut at the time, so it got pretty darn cold.

I watched the whole season. I was glad to see Whitney win. She is a size 10. Funny, when I was a 10 I sure didn't think of myself as plus sized.
