America's Next Top Model winner is... 05/14/08

I don't follow this show, and have never watched a full episode of it, but tonight was the season finale. I just wanted to do a quickie to announce..for anyone who is interested.. that 20 y/o Whtiney Thompson of Atlantic Beach, Florida was chosen as the winner of America's Next Top Model.  I only care because she is from my area, so she has a connection here!  GO WHITNEY!!  I don't think she was the favorite to win, and most people thought Anya was going to win.. me included.  Anya is pretty, skinny, blonde and had never been in the bottom three, while Whitney had been in it several times.  I hate to say it, but I almost think they let Whitney win because she's considered a "plus size" model.  Maybe they're making a point?  Maybe not, what do I know? I've never watched the show, she could just have been the better choice based on her final performance.  I'm sure she'll be a great model though, they would know more about it than me.  I don't particularly think she looks very plus size, but I guess if you're over a size 2, you're a heiffer.  She has curves and a body, and she is very pretty.  As Tyra said, "she's not big. Only in modeling is she big.  On the streets, she's just a hot girl".  Congrats to Whitney!
