American Idol Results show 05/13/2008 .. So Long Syesha

At the start of the show, Ryan said we would be saying goodbye to one of the final 3 yada yada.. and "the judges are here to soften the blow". ..and I could almost hear the unspoken words "as we kick Syesha off,  because we wanted David A to win"  hmmm..but maybe I'm hearing thinigs and need to get my ears checked,..

Fantasia was the guest star, and she came out and sang.. something.. What's up with the red hair?  I guess she looked okay, but definitely different.  I really didn't enjoy her performance. ..just not my type of thing, but I thought it was a mess.  That wasn't singing, it was screeching..or was it just me?   I don't know..what did you guys think?   It's probably just me, the audience seemed to like it. Then again, that's pretty much the way she sings a lot of the time.. I'm not a huge Fantasia fan, never have been.

Tonight, we got to go to the hometown visits.  In all 3 towns, fans turned out in droves, screaming and waving signs and going crazy.  David A and  Syesha's fans were all going crazy, screaming, hugging them and yelling we love you!!!..  David C's fans were losing it!  There was screaming and carrying on and crying..like he's the 5th Beatle or something.  It was just crazy, and it shows just how much people really love their Idol favorites.

They each started tearing up during their visits, overwhelmed by the fans and the support of their hometown people.  I got misty-eyed watching them, especially  Syesha, cuz she was really bawling and was just really emotional.  That just kills me.   If little Archie couldn't get a date before Idol in his high school, he sure can now.  lol 

What was up with that chick throwing her baby at Syesha?  She just walks up and doesn't ask, will you take a pic with my baby... she just sticks her in her arms. She's lucky she didn't drop the poor thing...she was not expecting that, and you could tell she didn't really know what do do.  LOL  and what was up with the old lady doing a hand stand?  lol  I watched her during the clips of her Idol journey and I thought, that girl will be okay.. she could do anything.. model? sing? act in movies..or, of course, on  Broadway.  I see big things for her.  

When David Cook came up on stage, they told the story of how he wasn't even going to audition. He came to support his little brother and ended up auditioning.. and ended up being the new American Idol! ..oh, wait.. getting a little ahead of myself here, he hasn't officially won YET.  His brother came up on stage, and he's kinda hot ..he doesn't have the rock star persona that David has though.  I think they should have let him sing too.  I wonder if he sounds like David?  That's gotta piss his brother off that he talked him into auditioning and here he is waiting to take home all the marbles.  During his hometown visit, they played "Dream On" in the background ...foreshadowing that his dreams are about to come true?   What made the producers shanghai David and walk over his brother?  We'll probably never know.. but aren't we glad they did!  You can't buy it on Amazon anymore, they pulled it once he made the top 10, but check out some of the songs from Analog Heart by David Cook on YouTube.  

 56 million votes were counted.. and it looks like the producers got their wish for a Battle of the Davids finale. .. 

 So.. as predicted, Syesha gave her final American Idol performance..and will ride off into the sunset and on to bigger and better things. 

They announced on the news here after the show  that the rumors of David A's dad being banned are not true.  He was only asked not to help with his song choices or be back stage while he prepares, because he was making David nervous.  So, he can't be present while he prepares or help choose songs.  He can go backstage, he just isn't allowed to do anything while he's there. LOL
