Remember when you were new here at Gather and your writings sat there all lonely, not getting views or comments?

Has it been like that for you since the last upgrade?  It has, hasn't it?  Well, maybe not quite as bad as when you were new, but almost as bad.  That's the way it has been for me too.

You hit the nail on the head. It seems like scarcely anyone reads mine anymore. I've got things I published over a week ago with little as 1 or 2 comments on them I've read some of these but I'll check a few more out.

I'm sorry... I've basically gone to just commenting back when someone comments on my stuff. Since the upgrade that's all I do any more. I'm still sorry all this happened, but I guess we all just have to move on.

I think a lot of people left... for me I have had limited time on Gather because of the car hitting my house in April and I haven't been well. I am just starting to get back to commenting. I figure my lack of time hurt. But I think everything changed after the
"improvements" they made. Points are slower so I guess they are having to shell out less in gifts....does make you wonder..........

Actually, from the very beginning for some reason, people on gather took right to me and my first first article picked up a good 40 comments...and it's been off to the races ever since. The best response I've received so far has been nearly 400 comments on one post with well over 600 views. Since the Hawthorne upgrade was put into place; I really haven't had any problem with members finding me. As a matter of fact, on like my past 15 articles, I've been averaging about 115 comments and over 250 views each. Since Hawthorne; I've actually been getting even better response. It hasn't affected me negatively at all.

I know all to well about this. I use to get around 40 comments, now I get 5-10 sometimes a few more. Normally I get more when I e-mail my connections about something I have posted.

Not just this, but I posted an article about Natalie going missing with an image and I just finished checking on it.....5 views 0 comments!!! That sucks!!!!

You are right.
The comments on my things come and go. Some do well and others just sit there all lonely. I will be glad when we are able to "spotlight" some of our older posts.

OK, I'll read these. But I foound that the number of comments my articles go depended on the subject of the article. For instance, when I complained about all the people going 80 and 90 mph on the expressway in spite of the gas prices, I got lots more comments.
