He's better than...Obama. (MCCAIN)
Is that what our great nation is reduced to?
Better than?
You wouldn't settle for lead painted toys from china
"well they're better than anthrax laced barbie dolls!"

You wouldn't settle for police officers who worked half the time, and kick suspects the other half?
you wouldn't settle for someone as life partner who is infected with STD half the time?
What the hell?
That's why we need a viable third and fourth party in this country.
Vote none of the above, like on that movie, "BREWSTER"S MILLIONS"

I can not support someone who does not support our country and he clearly does not!
hilarious propaganda catch phrase.
Anyway, what party would be viable? Libertarian, Green? I think a third party would be a great asset to the American people. There would be more of a choice...
But our nation still needs programs
One of our local governments is Republican
their chairman told me he would be glad when there was a democrat back as governor in florida
When asked why, he said they didn't have funds to run the county health program for planned parenthood type programs.
Florida republicans don't think it's that important.
Good lord, I hope you're not raising a member of the next generation because obviously there are a few french fries missing from the happy meal.
Fred R. I'm voting for Obama as are thousands of intelligent folks - just stopped by to say hello anyway - you know my opinions - they haven't changed. Salud.
U.S.A. U.S.A. U.S.A.
It's an article about people advocating MCcain because he's better than Obama
And how that's absurd!
Instead, write in Hillary.......lol. At least she has some balls.

Where did your father and I go wrong?
Sorry, I already have a mother.
Mother is only half a word
Bruce.
I needed the stimulation this morning. Thanks.
I am voting for Senator Obama, not only do i feel he is sincere, but he taught Constitutional Law for 10 years.
He knows the Constitution inside and out.
I have never heard him lie either. I detest liars. So he's the one for me.
I was a registered Republican for 30 years, but not now.
Just shows that you either :
1) haven't been paying attention to Obama's Socialism
2) you don't know the meaning of the term "Socialism"
3) you're one of the mesmerized masses that drool at the mere mention of his name
4) you haven't been to barackobama.com
or 5) you're part of the media, that's already in the tank for Obama
This article was spawned from a comment a friend made in my kitchen
He said "I'm voting for MCcain, he's not as bad as the other two."
Is that what our great nation is reduced to?
not as bad?
That's all the article was about.
I think in all likelyhood,
Obama will be the next president of the united states.
Not what this article was about.
I'm just sick and tired of people rationalizing their beliefs.
Not as bad as the other guy?
Vote
Yes, when our choices of electable candidates are only two, that's what it comes down to. It always has. Are you just noticing this now? How long have you been voting, my friend? LOL
Obama lie #1 :
"I sat in the pews for 20 years and never heard Wright say any of those things I hear on TV now"
Obama lie #2 :
"I had no dealings with Tony Rezko"
He had to recant this later on, after the trial in Chicago began. Oooops!
Obama lie #3 (and this one was out on the campaign trail, which makes it worse than the rest) :
"NAFTA has cost Ohio more jobs than it has brought in"
(Hillary exposed this lie when she heard it, in Canton, Ohio, the night before the primary there). NAFTA has netted out a positive number of jobs in Ohio, even though the current Democratic perception is that it has cost tens of thousands of jobs there. Obama knew this in advance.
Pepsie, either you aren't looking, or you just don't care.............but Obama is just a politician. Don't hold him to the same standard as you do other people you know. He's going to lie to you - that's his job. He lies to you to make you feel good about him, and badly about the other guy. He's a professional at it. But please, don't be a rube about it.
Bret, Bret, Bret
Only entropy comes easy.
Anton Chekhov
This is a stupid comment. Johnny McSame and Hillary don't wear the stupid lapel pins, either.
Bert, let's see you itemize specific examples of this so-called "socialism" that you continue to point out about Obama. His policy positions are soundly in line with the majority of the nation, so I'm curious to see what you've got. (don't worry...I know that it's a quest in vain, since you never do anything but spout idiotic bullshit, and then spin and run away when you're asked to back up your bullshit statements).
Right after 9-11 everybody started flying flags
My family has been flying a flag in front of the house since before most of these people were born.
If you want to talk about patriotism,
then the symbol of your freedom has to be more than a flag pin!!!!!!!!!!!
The system, every politican wears a flag pin
So he's the change candadite,
No flag pin.
No problem.
Grow up all you out there who don't like him for the lack of flag pin,
Grow up,
and grow a set
Admit to yourself,
you don't like him cause he's black!
But you can't say that
so you talk about flag pins
and hands over hearts when the sytar spangled banner is being played.
Honestly, you are as transparent as a slinky dressed hooker in a church!
I know Obama lies.
I know Hillary lies.
You don't think McCain lies?
You don't think GW Bush lies?
I am trying to put the last 8 years of the most corrupt administration I have seen in my lifetime, behind me, and electing McCain will not help do that.
He has shown me his "true colors", and I don't think they look good.
I am not against capitalism, it certainly has proven itself around the world to be the best form of government. But as the saying goes, even too much of a good thing, is bad. You can't live without water, but drink too much water, and you will die.
I believe we have gone too far with unbridled capitalism, and the picture is not pretty.
The current administration has done too much deregulating.
I see corporate monopolies.
I see price fixing.
I see corporate control of our news media.
I see public brain washing by our corporate owned media.
I see U.S. corporations avoid paying U. S. taxes via loopholes established just for them.
I see an administration who turned its back on New Orleans.
I see a gigantic retailer steamroll local economies, all in the name of the bottom line.
I see an unjust war in Iraq, justified by "cooked" intelligence.
I see war profiteering.
I see our administration award no-bid war contracts to cronies.
I see an administration who looks the other way when these contractors fail to deliver.
I see top secret meetings between our administration and oil industry executives, to establish oil policies.
I see record gas prices at the pump, prices that many cannot afford.
I see rising inflation due to record energy prices.
I see an administration unwilling to do anything about these record energy prices.
I see a corrupt administration who uses "executive privilege" every chance it gets, to avoid prosecution.
I see a failing economy.
I see a budget surplus turned into a record national debt.
I see tax cuts for people who do not need tax cuts, contribute to the record debt.
I see phenomenal spending on an unjust war contribute to the record debt.
I see an administration who is unwilling to provide aid for its most honorable citizens - its veterans.
I see a president who uses a silly excuse for his refusal to ever attend a single war casualty funeral. (Attendance was common among past presidents.)
I see an administration who failed to provide adequate numbers of troops and body armor to reduce the rate of casualties.
I see a vice president, who when asked about the American public's overwhelming opposition to the war in Iraq, smugly reply, "So?" And as part of his response to war casualties were the words, "...they volunteered...", as if that were a justification.
I see an administration who ignored intelligence, both U.S. and foreign, presented just days before 9/11, which indicated that a major terrorist attack was to happen soon in the U.S.
I see an administration who has given up interest in capturing Osama bin Laden, even as bin Laden continues to threaten the world with terrorist attacks which will be more spectacular than 9/11, and serves as a hero to rally radical fundamental Islamic extremists.
I see a record breaking disparity between wealthy and poor in this country.
I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture.
I want a president who will change our course.
I honor and respect McCain for his military service to this country.
I do not think McCain will change the current course of our country, and so I will not vote for him.
I will vote for the person nominated for the Democratic ticket, Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.
Obama is somewhat more liberal than I would like, but I do think he is the most honest of the three. I know that he will not be able to deliver much of what he promises, unless the Democratic Party is able to win significant majorities on both sides of Congress, which, while the possibility exist, I do not place much hope in that happening.
But, right now, it is a step in the right direction for this country.
Jerry -- take heart! The Democrats picked up their third republican congressional seat since March with the election of Travis Childers of Mississippi, with the very real hope of more this fall.
also a WATER high, disorientation....
Sounds like conservatives have been drinking too much water since the fifties!
Without writing a doctoral dissertation to refute a lot of what you said, I offer this to all of you Barack Obama supporters : go to his website - barackobama.com, and take a look at all the projects and platforms he says he favors.
Now how will he pay for even 30% of them?
Does this not scare you, from a guy who promised to raise your taxes? Do you not see a "perfect storm" of unbridled spending occurring here? He's going to have a Democratically-led House AND Senate too.
Not good if you believe in checks and balances.
Why does this guy have your vote?
What has he actually done (not said) since he's been in Congress to make you think he'd be a great President?
Right you are.
George Washington
John Adams
John Jay
Robert H. Harrison
John Rutledge
You see, people voted for George because they said he's not as bad as these clowns.
in 1824 they elected J.Q. Adams because they said he not as bad as Andrew jackson.
John Quincy Adams
Andrew Jackson
William H. Crawford
Henry Clay
of course I'm being ridulous.
But then again so are people now-a-days being ass-in-nine
and ass-in-ten and eleven!!!!
LMAO
Good post Kimber
Obama is not as good as the two other candidates. He just isn't the whole package, nor is he fully vetted (i.e. : lots of skeletons yet to emerge from his deep, dark voluminous closet)................and when you examine his record in Congress, you see just how weak he truly is.
But he does make pretty speeches!
You ARE kidding, right? Well, here's the deal. We are WATCHING the perfect storm of spending occur right this very minute. By the republicans in service to us presently. And it is not being spent on Americans, we can't rebuild our own country or maintain its infrastructures, because the war mongers (who won't raise out taxes???) are profiteering from the war efforts that we are paying for....and will continue to pay for even after they leave Washington Town, with their full-up pockets.
Read the numbers. And before you start you tax and spend dialog, look at the figures on income / tax / US budget. Compare it to the state of US finances when Clinton left office. Let's talk balanced budget? 9 trillion off budget, sir. 9 trill. The citizens of the nation will pay for it in one way or another.
Jerry P: Right ON! Right Freakin' ON...
Fred, great article, thanks for starting it up and hosting it so well.
(future diplomat?)

Wilka
THATs why they call us the Tax and Spend Dems. They don't get it. We don't spend it till we have it. They spend it and let "the other party" in for a while to rebuild our finances.
Anybody have a real reading on the unemployment figures lately?
Wilka
I do know, all too well, it sometimes gets me into trouble.
But I like my batting average!
Luv Ya Kathy!
Bruce.
