Question - Anybody purchased MP3s from Amazon?

I was all set to cash in some of my Pepsi Stuff points for a few MP3 downloads, but found the process wasn't as simple as it looked. I just want an mp3 file of the song, but it looks like you have to download and install some amazon interface to purchase the MP3s.

I store all my MP3 files in their own folder and have them sorted into subfolders by type. So I am wondering if I use this downloader from amazon, can I then move my file wherever I want once it's on my PC, or do I have to use their software to play it forever?

Would appreciate any answers from anyone who has bought MP3 music files from amazon.com. Thanks.

I have no idea, man. I go the illegal route and download all my MP3s from Limewire. Hehe. Then, if the album is good, I buy it. Otherwise I just keep the singles I like as MP3s.

I can't help you out here. I don't do the music download thing. My husband takes care of that.

I can't be of much help. I have not bought any MP3's from amazon.
I would like to know the answer too.
Maybe email amazon and ask them?

Can you expand on that Jane? I already know it's a mess, but could you move the files where you wanted using windows?

I did it and didn't have any trouble. I wonder if the process has changed.

i was wondering the same thing. I was thinking of downloading a couple..doing it the legal way for once lol.. but then I saw about having to download the player and I was wondering if it was like when you get audio books from Audible and you can only listen to them if you have their player installed.. so I gave up and went back to ..the other way.. :O)

Hey Marianne, I've been buying the Amazon mp3's regularly now and like them better than itunes because you can easily play them on most computers and also put them in itunes or on ipod devices, cd's etc..I don't think I had to download the software on my laptop for it, but the laptop is a MAC. Sometimes they have mp3's at 89 cents, versus itunes 99cents. Good luck!
