Even though I'm not particularly health conscious.. as evidenced by general rotundity of my derriere.. (I know you can't see it..trust me, it's there!) but I do make at least a partial effort to eat healhy at least most of the time. While I never met a chocolate cake i didn't like, I also love fruits and vegetables and I eat yogurt because I like it, not because I think I "should". That being the case, I recently decided to buy some stuff from Yoplait, called Whips.. I had some coupons. Yoplait Whips are pretty much what you'd expect, judging by the name. They are 4 oz cups of yogurt, whipped up until they're fluffy and resembling a mousse-like, dessert-type product. They're light and fluffy and look nothing like you expect yogurt to look. They come in many fruity flavors, including key lime, strawberry (mist), lemon (meringue), Orange (creme), Peaches (N cream), and Raspberry (mousse), and also in some unfruity flavors, like Chocolate, chocolate mint, Chocolate raspberry, and Dulce de leche,, sound yummy, don't they? Well, they are.. mostly. I haven't tried chocolate mint, chocolate raspberry, raspberry mousse or Dulce de Leche.. so I can't comment on them, but the rest of them I"ve tried and they are very yummy!
Strawberry Mist and Key Lime Pie are my favorites! They mostly taste like a fruit mousse .. kinda sweet, light, and fruity, with just a hint of that yogurty tang. I also tried the chocolate, even though I wasn't expecting to like it, because I had read reviews that said it had a kind of aftertaste. I'm pretty brave though, and I decided to risk it. It's actually pretty good! I guess those reviews I read were from people who didn't really like yogurt and were hoping that somehow chocolate would turn the yogurt into pudding or something. It does have a slight yogurty taste to it, but it's chocolate too, and it tastes like what a reasonable person would expect chocolate yogurt to taste like. It is enough to take the edge off of a chocolate craving for someone who does like yogurt. I'm a little leary of chocolate mint yogurt ..and even chocolate raspberry yogurt sounds a bit dicey to me.. but I've heard that the Dulce de Leche is pretty good.
If you're looking for something sweet and fruity and light to snack on, then Yoplait Whips might be something you would enjoy. There's 140 calories and 2.5 gm of fat in the Strawberry Mist and the fruit flavored variety, and 160 calories and 4 gm of fat in the chocolate varieties. I don't think those stats are too bad, not fabulous, but not too terrible.. .. but, looking at the ingredients, you should be aware that they do contain high fructose corn syrup, so although the stats might not be bad, it still may not be the most healthy thing you can eat. I know some are concerned about that.
So, that wraps up another edition of SYMBM (stuff you might be missing).

I do like yogurt and now I'm tempted to try these. They sound like a cross between a snack and a dessert.
