Opal lay on the bed. She found a sunny spot near two throw pillows. The humans hadn't made the bed and the covers had an interesting texture. She thought she would lie there for a while basking and doze till she fell asleep.
Then she noticed a human with a camera. The camera annoyed her. It made funny noises and the humans weren't able to serve her properly when they held it. Sometimes they even ignored her.
She got up and meandered toward the edge of the bed. Maybe the human would put down the camera and pet her if she came closer. She wouldn't mind being petted before her nap. She knew that she had to feign indifference.
She lay at the corner of the bed. She hoped that the human would be unable to resist. She knew that looking bored always got results.
She was right. The human put down the camera and petted her. She was happy to know that she was still in control and that the humans hadn't forgotten Service to Cats.
