Question Regarding Booster Seats

We bought a booster seat this weekend and installed it in our car.  However, it doesn't have the latch system.  The seat itself doesn't attach to the car except by the seatbelt.  Is this normal?  It doesn't seem very safe.  I was expecting it to latch in like a carseat, but it doesn't work that way.

Anyone have any experience with this?

That's normal! How old is the child going in it? Checke weight and heigh restrictions!

That seems strange.. but I guess it's normal if Bridget says it is LOL Ya know, i think I read somewhere ..on a friend's blog.. that in England kids have to be in a booster seat til their 12.. yikes.. what's the normal age here ..I know it's 8 some places .. here in Florida I think it's 5.. doesn't 12 seem excessive? :O)

I think they have to be in one until they're 100 pounds, or 4 foot something...

Ours is for 30-100 lb children. It fits him fine, but just wiggles around on the seat as he climbs into it. I just don't see how it would work well in an accident though...

Starting July 1 in Michigan kids have to be in a car booster seat until age 7.

The booster seat is for the seat belt to fit on the child right.If your child is not tall enough the seat belt will not fit the little body and is no good for them.Its not only an age or weight thing its also how tall they are.
