Eyes peer to know
What awaits me
On this brisk day
Pitching in seas
Capped by white spume--
Wickedly flicked
As briny spray
Past a proud bow
Risen and smug,
Into my face
For fine effect.
I brace and laugh
In steely notes--
Sympathetic
Metallic gray
Music to play
With overcast
That blankets all
Above and slays
Shadows to let
All be seen true
Beneath the realm
In blues and greens
Whites and gray shades,
Twisting, heaving,
Crashing, straining--
Life just laughing
Like sailors free
Who pit their boats
With fullest love
Against the sea;
Dolphins leaping,
Spontaneous . . .
Nothing but now,
Ever-changing.

There's a true love for the sea here Jim. Beautiful colours and sounds painted on the page. I especially like:
...In blues and greens
Whites and grays,
Twisting, heaving,
Crashing, straining--
Life just laughing...
Perfectly done.
of a three day sail off the

in Maine.
Thank you, John. I'm always in awe of the sea and her delicious challenges.
Sounds bracing, Elizabeth. What a wonderful experience.
Hey, d m., thank you!
Thank you Friend,

My pleasure, Judi. I'm glad you enjoyed the trip.
Thank you, CoffeeLady. The present unfolds in an undending stream of challenges while sailing. No use anticipating the work of them; they rarely arrive in the precise package you expect. The experience is definitely "full of life!"
I'll be back, ♥♥ reena! I'm feeling withdrawal as I write this. Thank you so much for the compliments.
Looking forward to reading other pieces. Always enjoyed your 100 word stories.
