So 14 things about me ....1 of which is not true. If you haven't yet been tagged, consider it done and get typing. 

I'm not sure how we let people know whether or not they've guessed correctly. If anyone knows, please let me know!

 

1. I was once (a LONG time ago!) a runner-up in the Miss Maine Pageant and even won the swimsuit competition.

2. I once drank several shots of Wild Turkey at one sitting.

3. I vowed to never get married or have children and planned on being a career woman.

4. I went to college and studied elementary education.

5. I was once so disgruntled by an ex-boyfriend that I dumped the entire contents of a cat's litter box (not a clean one, either) on the hood of his new truck.

6. I voted for Jimmy Carter in 1976.

7. I was a tap dancer for several years.

8. I drove down the road where a prospective boyfriend lived (Again, WAY back in time) wearing a large salad bowl on my head as I felt the need to pass his home incognito.

9. I once worked in a nasty, disgusting restaurant and was guilty of putting cockroaches in the coffee pot. I figured it might alert the health inspector as the owner wouldn't allow the wait staff to call an exterminator.

10. I'm a lousy swimmer.

11. I ran a Daycare Center when my first children were small.

12. I have played the piano for decades; even professionally at times.

13. I'm a pretty good shot with a .45.

14. I really and truly enjoy a nice bowl of lima beans.

Thanks, Ina, for letting me know how this works! But you're wrong.....I actually do love lima beans!

And De ( Villagers. The other white meat.) M., I'm guilty as charged. I really did #9. And no, I'm NOT proud of it!!

One. I'm guessing one because it is totally believable that you could be a runner-up in a beauty contest. I'm hoping the obviously true answer is the false one. How's that for logic?

Wow! Kimberly. I knew you were a fascinating person, but I never thought you were that fascinating. Thanks for telling me what an exciting life you lead. I was never so daring and therefore compared to you, my life was dull. But, I do enjoy the lima beans. It doesn't matter if they are fresh, frozen, or dried, only that they are cooked right.
My daughter brought home a boyfriend from college on special occasions, as he lived in CA, so didn't go home for most of the holidays. I cooked lima beans for dinner one night. Afterwards, he confessed to me of not liking lima beans, but thoroughly enjoyed how I cooked them.

#9 - I cannot believe that a gun-totting, shot-drinkin', tap-dancin', piano-playin', beauty queen would actually put a cockroach into coffee and serve it to restaurant guests. Ugh! I don't think I'll ever drink coffee out again.

I have definitely mellowed quite a bit over the years. The cockroach thing was about 26 years ago...the wild turkey at least 30, the salad bowl more than 30, the tap dancing and the pageant more than 30, the shooting has been in recent years, as had eating the lima beans (I really do enjoy them!). I'm not a good swimmer at all even though I love the beach in Florida (I dip my toes....that's about all) and I was a pretty good tap dancer. Never thought I get married and have chioldren (I have 5) and do still play the piano. I admit voting for Jimmy Carter and did study elementary education. There's not money enough in the world to pay me to be a teacher. Those people deserve induction into sainthood!

I almost never respond to these "tag" things but this one was kind of fun!!
Well, it was certainly fun to read! Who knew you had plumbed such depths! The salad bowl thing is priceless!

You have five children?! No fair, how can you have such a pleasant expression on your face - still? I only had three and I do have a pleasant expression (or so people say and I don't think they are lying) but I had a very pained expression for some of the years I was raising THREE boys -and then I got past that and just learned to not sweat the little or big stuff but just get on with loving it all (mostly). Five kids?! I'd like to know the age span there - between them. Our kids are 7 years apart, starting with the first one, 2nd one born 7 years after that and the last one (we cheated a bit) was adopted when he was give, making him 7 years younger than the middle son.

It took me 7 years to work up the courage to have another child after each one, lol. Seven years of fishing with boys in creeks and dealing with unknown varieties of snakes they found and one baby duckling paddling around in our bathtub (which I didn't discover till I was undressed and about to take a bath) and more adventures. I'm a "one kid at a time" kind of parent.

Thanks for sharing all of this. I would have not guessed No. 7. It's not that I see you as a daycare person, I just would have went for the lima beans!
