The storms that are tracking across the Eastern US currently nailed Georgia in the wee hours overnight. I was woken up in the middle of the worst part of the storms at 4:30 a.m. because my dog was upset. She doesn't do well during storms. So I got up to sit with her.
I went out on the deck this morning and was amazed by the amount of rainfall we had in 3-4 hours. Check out the photos of an empty large planter on the back deck shown here.

I'm sure I'll be heading back to sleep for a few hours shortly though since this is just way to early to get up, even for a morning person like me.

South of Atlanta had some worse storms thatn we did Northeast of downtown. We never had any loud thunder in my area either. Just a ton of rain. Though it probably caused flash-flooding, we still need rain here.
I just woke up to storming and rain here in Missouri too. There are sticks all over the back yard where branches fell. Plus to add to the excitement we are hosting a Mothers Day BBQ at 5 that was supposed to be outdoors. (is now banging head against the computer a few dozen times.)

I used to have a cat that sat in the litter pan during thunder storms. Odd.
Thanks so much for posting this to
my group
i love a good storm though.
Conyers however - Conyers took a beating. We got a call Sunday to come help clean up a friend's yard - we were told a tree had crashed through the son's bedroom and destroyed the deck. Suffice to say that info was slightly off - not nearly the damage we were expecting but we passed some homes with extremely severe damage, power lines lying on the ground, huge trees uprooted and lying across cars..... it was pretty gruesome and we were thankful our friends were spared the worst of it.
