I thought I'd try to have fun this week! Dang but these short ones take longer than the longer ones!
When I done stubbed my toe on the charming divan and it hurt like fourteen rabbits hollerin'
and the team I root for's mascot weren't doin' any leapin' this time 'round
and workin' late got me nothin' but a pink slip behind the collar
and my qualified candidate didn't win nothin' but a hoarse voice
and the baseball that went through the winder made a new screen saver for my pc
and the team I root for's mascot weren't doin' any leapin' this time 'round
and workin' late got me nothin' but a pink slip behind the collar
and my qualified candidate didn't win nothin' but a hoarse voice
and the baseball that went through the winder made a new screen saver for my pc
and the dog ate the cat for a hairy breakfast treat
and then died hisself most assuredly from the doggone cat poisoning
and my puking from the bad beans could be heard down the street louder than a rhino's roar
and my puking from the bad beans could be heard down the street louder than a rhino's roar
and the missus' yellin' reached so many decibels as to make the pleasant stemware shatter
and etcetera if you get my driftand with my little ones with large eyes and swollen bellies peering up at me from their mama's skirts
--that's when.
No worries on planet Vulcan.
"Live long and prosper!":
How wise the pointed ear who first contrived
the Vulcans' most heartfelt farewell.

Thanks for posting this to BEST ORIGINAL PHOTOS, ART AND WRITING FOR 2008.
Do me a favor and, if you haven't already, post it to Gather Essentials: Writing for Humor Monday
(Best to wait until tomorrow so I'll see it in the editor's queue.) Thanks.
I love these dialectal phrases: "When I done stubbed my toe", "any leapin' this time 'round and workin' late got me nothing' but a pink slip behind the collar", and the missus' yellin'…
I bet this was a fun write! It was wonderfully amusing and I certainly enjoyed reading it.

I always enjoy your work, and it comes from--and goes to--so many different directions, that it's like a 'venture when I see your icon.
Blessings,
This was wonderful, David. I'd rather not be a Vulcan, thank you. I mean they really wouldn't have much in the arts. What , with the whole "no pain, no true pleasue thing" and all.......
Blessings ~
