Weekend Chew & Stew - May 10 & 11, 2008
by Marilyn Mackenzie
Whether you agree with the concept or not, everyone needs to be able to vent from time to time. That's especially true if you're one of the many who suffer from an invisible illness. We have whines and rants about pains, medical professionals and prescriptions, just to name a few. Perhaps our families listen; perhaps they don't. Even if they do, they get tired of our complaining, even if they claim to understand our constant struggles. Or if they don't get tired of our "negative energy" we think they do or will.
Well, what are you waiting for? Are you chewing on something? Or stewing about something? Share it here, please.
The Weekend Chew & Stew replaces the Daily Whine & Shine, mostly so that I can post one article for the whole weekend.
You can still rant, vent, stomp your feet, throw a tantrum or yell, "Oh shuckie darn!"
Praise reports are welcome as well. If you're ready to dance and shout, "Yippee skippy!" do let us know. Maybe we can dance and shout with you. :-)
May 10 is Clean Up Your Room Day and International Migratory Bird Day.
May 11 is Eat All You Want Day, Twilight Zone Day and Mother's Day.
May 9-15 is Salute to Moms 35+ Week.
And get ready for these days coming up soon:
May 12 is Chronic Fatigue Day, Limerick Day, National Nutty Fudge Day.
May 13 is Frog Jumping Day, Leprechaun Day.
May 14 is Dance Like a Chicken Day, National Receptionists Day (different than National Office Professional Day in April).
Food for thought:
The commonest fallacy among women is that simply having children makes them a mother - which is as absurd as believing that having a piano makes one a musician. ~ Sydney J. Harris

I wanted to drop by and wish you a happy mother's day! I am dealing with a bad cold and I thought that you may have posted a nice STEW RECIPE!
Hey, thanks for listening! Maybe I will find a good joke to post!
I claimed God's Healing for it.
But I'm a good listener.
I'm a little irritated with my brother because he didn't show up for the big barbecue my sister hosted for our Mom!!!!
Why didn't he show up?? He's a dj by trade and he wanted to bring his sound system to the party. Now, I hired Mariachis to serenade my Mom and they arrived at 6:15 pm and by 7 pm, they were done. The big San Antonio Spurs game started at 7 pm. How much time did he think he was going to have to spin his music in this time frame??? Hardly any!!! Why couldn't he just have let my hubby pick him and his family up and bring them to the party, minus the sound system??? (He doesn't have any mode of transportation other than the bus!!!!!)
No, he entrenched himself on the idea of bringing the sound system, whether we liked it or not!!!! He missed a very special event just because of his stubborness!!!!! This was more important than his Mom!!!! Now, you know why I am so pissed off at this brother of mine!!!!!!
