I was doing a little research on the new Fisker hybrid automobile on Wired.com, and reading the blog comments for some insight.  I ran across the following commentary that made me stop, and take notice :

Now this "squirrel hunter" may be just another Left Wingnut, but the larger question is : don't these freaks have something better to do with their time than spout crackpot theories?  I mean, this wasn't a site like Gather, where you run into this a lot.  It was a thread about technology.

This made me think - I wonder who else runs across these demented kooks on other sites?

What makes these people so crazy?

Is it the anonimity of the internet, or are they loons in real life as well?

Notice that the two LARGEST religious groups in western civilization, Islam and Christianity, are not accused of controlling the oil resources of the world, DESPITE THE FACT THAT THEY DO. If as I think is the case, Venezuela and Mexico are predominantly Roman Catholic, Canada, and the USA are predominantly Christian, and we all know that Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, and points south are predominantly Muslim. Those two religions represent about equal numbers on planet earth, and they represent roughly 40% of the people on the planet. Jews, on the other hand just plain don't represent anywhere near the numbers that either of the "Big Two" do. So, the Christians, and the Muslims BOTH ATTACK JEWS. And both seek domination over the world's oil resources. Of course its the Jews who prevent either from taking complete control of the resource. Has nothing to do with the fact that neither can whip the other.

Wow, this information amazes me Joe T. I've been a Christian all my life, I come from northern European ancestry, and all I've ever heard of was how many of the people from my grandparents' homeland died trying to protect the Jews during WWII and have never been exposed to this type of bigotry en mass as you say it is.
To say that 'Christians attack Jews' as Mr. Leuba did is ignorant to me and for you to agree with him shows some type of bias on your part, perhaps an anti-Christian one.

Hey, I was on this Wired.com site to do some research about electric automobiles, and the freaks are on that site too!

Has the whole Left Wing gone crazy all at once? Don't they know they need to keep their tin-foil hats on while they sleep too? The neutron radiation that the CIA sends out during the night can't penetrate Reynold's Wrap. So keep those hats on tight at night, loopy nutbags! LOL

Bret, You know full well that I am not the person you referred to. In Fact, I know that most of the "conspiracy theories" claiming that great inventions are being subverted are PURE BS. Give Ford Motor company a carburator that delivers 100 miles to a gallon of gas and 300 HP and you will have a car that does just exactly that, with patents and all manner of protection to keep GM from getting the same technology. Then, in a week, GM will have patented a similar system that does the same job better. And it will go back and forth till equilibrium is reached. THAT BRET IS THE NATURE OF A "FREE MARKET."

The oil economy has a time limit on it - electric doesn't.

Karl, carburetors are peanut husks compared to the deeper "Tesla type" energy secrets being held back for maximum profit seeking ... we will never throw away, nor leapfrog past, any system that has yet to be milked for maximum profit ... and in the case of oil, there are VAST profits to be made there ... and who knows what else may be similarly involved once we get control of the peoples and the land involved !?!

Bret, all of that stuff really concerns me myself NOT at all, I only attempt to tell others who should be concerned ... sometimes you can lead some horses to water, but you cannot make any of them drink ... they have to want to do that first ... you evidently have no use for such "water" and refuse to even be led ... no problem ... except for yourself when you do get thirsty and forget where you were told to look for your relief ... :-)

Bret, I do not know where you get the idea that I am a socialist, any more than I am a liberal ... both being but an oppositional extreme difference from what you prefer for yourself ... I am not an extremist about anything other than being against extremism itself.

I seek a middle ground balance between such oppositions of right/wrong, win/lose, considerations .... an appreciation by all, of the diversity of all, to where each can have at least some of their own preference, so that all can be a win/win ... NOT so much a compromise, as a SYNERGY ...

I have no problems with capitalism and wealth, or even competition ... as long as it stays HEALTHY so as to NOT destroy others enjoyment of life.

It is really very simple when (+=-) is considered as a valid replacement for dualistic (+/-).

And Jerry, + and - are out of balance right now. In the Democratic party, we're nowhere near a healthy balance. We've been pushed (by Howard Dean) so Far Left that even JFK wouldn't recognize this party if he were alive today. The poor guy would most likely have already been pushed out, like Joe Lieberman.............who, incidentally, has an almost identical voting record as Lieberman, on like issues.
