I've been trying to find other ways, to lower my blood sugar. Yes diet and exercise is the main key. But there has to be other things that help. As well as what I already do. So I've been asking around and surfing online.
I have a few tips I use myself. When my blood sugar is high.
For instance, I will drink more water. Or go for a brisk walk, for about 20 to 30 minutes.
Or just a quiet little moment alone. Doing some deep breathing, relaxing. I also find that a good nights rest, makes a big difference.
I came across an ad, for Nature Made diabetic health packet. This is not one of the cheaper tips. lol A 30 day supply for $24.00. You can find coupons to help on price. If I could get it cheaper. I'd like to try it out...
Then I heard the supplement chromium. Helps to lower blood sugar. That combined with exercise, of course.
But this next tip is an odd one. My husband was talking to a co/woker, about my blood sugar. And how I was trying to find some help. She told him her husband uses cinnamon. He'll sprinkle some in his yogurt. Or you can buy a cinnamon pill. These are located in the vitamin department. Iam going to get a bottle this weekend. *cant hurt to try* lol
I did a little online search.
"Cinnamon has been shown to reduce blood sugars, although not effectively in post-menopausal women."
~~ Sprinkle a couple teaspoons of cinnamon powder on your yogurt, or take it in
capsule form. In any vitamin section, you'll find cinnamon pills.~~
Had anyone else heard of, or are using cinnamon?
As always, you need to be careful to monitor your sugar levels so as not to become hypoglycemic (that's when your blood sugar is too low). And of course, this is not medical advice but personal advice from my own experience. And from others who suffer from high blood sugar...
Ask a doctor before doing any of this.
If you have a tip, please share it. =)
Thanks!~

You can buy cinnamon capsules at vitamin stores.
While I was there I checked into the, Nature Made diabetic health pack. They had the same packets but not by Nature Made. And the bottle was under $9.00 for 30 day supply. Instead of the $24.00 bottle from Nature Made. I did not buy it though. I want to stick with the cinnamon first. So I can see how it works.
Thanks again everyone for your comments. =)
Make sure that you use real Cinnamon as Cassia could be toxic.
The Cinnamon that we buy in the US is actually Cassia and could be toxic.

I will have to try this; he just took me off Januvia (pill version of Byetta) as I developed a long-standing rash with serious inflammation on the insides of my arms, that is apparently one of the rarer side effects of Januvia. I was on a combination of Glucovance and Januvia; he is expecting my sugars to elevate somewhat over the next 30 days; I will call and ask his nurse to ask him if adding a cinnamon supplement would cause any interactions/problems.
The reason I quit using cinnamon a few years ago was because there just wasn't any good way to get a whole tsp. down first thing in the morning and I was having a lot of burping spells that burned slightly. There weren't any pills available at that point, though, and delivery systems can make a huge difference.
