Do You Remember Nancy Drew?

I read every Nancy Drew book that I could ever get my hands on.  I think I read every single book, then later they came out with "different" Nancy Drew books and I tried reading those too and they were ok, I liked the orginals the best but they were ok.  Then came the Nancy Drew Files.  I wasn't as fond of those though once in a while I read them.  I just didn't go out of my way to buy them or check them out at the library but if one came past me, I would read it. 

I also watched the Nancy Drew series with Pamela Sue Martin and liked those but I did like the Hardy Boys better because I had a major crush on Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy!  [FYI - I have since outgrown those crushes! :-)]

I have seen the really old Nancy Drew movies starring Bonita Granville that were made in black and white back in the 1930's.  They are so politically incorrect in EVERY way that they are a hilarious riot to watch!  I love them.  Laughed my way through them is more like it!  In fact, I like them so much that someday I plan to buy them on DVD!

I recently Netflixed the newest Nancy Drew movie and watched it.  It was ok, not exactly what I thought Nancy Drew was like but it had its cute moments.  Of course it wasn't much like any of the Nancy Drew books but still, I found it cute though I wouldn't go buy the DVD or anything like that!  I did hate how they portrayed Nancy's father in it though cuz if you read the books, you know he was not the idiot he was in the movie.

I loved Nancy Drew books when I was a kid. But I liked Hardy Boys even more.

I think I must have read them all too; however, I don't remember them now. Seems like there was something about a clock in one of the titles. I wasn't so into the Hardy Boys.

I loved Nancy Drew books, do not bother with the newest movies from Nickelodeon, it is terrible.

I too, enjoyed the Nancy Drew original books. I also enjoyed the TV shows of both Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys. And yes, I had a major crush on Shaun Cassidy!

My cousin has a Nancy Drew PC game, though that I've played a bit.

I've never read the Nancy Drew books. My MIL has offered to give an entire collection of them to my daughter, but she's not interested. :(

I loved them as a kid...i'd read all the school library had...and then I got hooked on the show with Pamela sue anderson....

It doesn't take to much to remember nancy Drew -- once launched, the series never really went away or died out. Nancy was one of the many characters launched by a man who wrote the plotlines and then hired staff writers to flesh out the stories and turn them into books for young readers. He got wealthy off the royalties while the staff writers earned a flat rate; still, the writers were able to put their stamp on the characters and Nancy was a feisty role model in her day.

The updates are usually meant to continue casting her in that role, but they seem to always fall short, somehow, for being more unreal than real. Few real girls have that amount of ready wealth and untold opportunity -- but if the girls are reading, they are dreaming and that's a necessary first step.
I read them as a child. But haven't touch them since. I also like the hardy boys. I have never seen any of the movies either.

I loved the older books, lost interest as they did the new and not neccessarily improved versions. I have not seen the new movie yet, my hubby wants too and thinks the kids would like it but I hate how they make her out to be such a nerd in the previews. I don't remember her being that bad in the books. I hold a different picture of her in my head. Ultimately I will watch the movie with my kids but not yet!

I wrote a review of the Nancy Drew Movie and didn't even think it was OK.

I was a huge fan of the book series and even today would happily read them.

ME too this was my favorite book growing up. My mom had subsribed to a book club for me and I could not wait till the next mont's book came.. I did not particular like the new ere series or movies. I like the oldies.

I love Nancy Drew and my favorite are the original book -- the books I used to find at my grandmother's houses when I visited. I started giving the reproductions to my niece before she was born and she has finally started reading them.

I love the books and have seen some of the movies and shows. I also play the nancy drew games by herinteractive. If you like pc games, you would probably like them. =)
